Eternity Poem by chris schwartz

Eternity

The night time screams in silence
I fear if I abandon its
Wisdom
I will not awaken
To the stupidity
Of the sun.
We are left here
To become fossils
After the rocks
We have become.
The metrics
On a Ruler
Have guided us to become
One lost sheep
One dark measurement
Into something
Quite beyond.
Draw rays from simple
Moments
Breathe in the air
When you wake
Notice each and every
Seashell
Upon the beaches
That capture you
With their calling.
Hear the short
And always echoing
Sound
Of goodbye.
