Eve Of A New Year Poem by Carolyn Ford Witt

Eve Of A New Year

ON THE EVE OF A NEW YEAR

On the Eve
Of a New Year,
I sit with You
My Lord so dear.

To contemplate
The days now past
And wonder
To the very last.

Wondering what things
Should I change.
Make life worthwhile
What to rearrange.

So many things
To share with You
If only I
Can follow through.

No promises
But I will try
To share with all
And reach the sky.

A blessing here
A blessing there,
Just little things
That I can share.

And try not
To provoke a tear
On this the Eve
Of a New Year.
