Eve Of Sorrow Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Eve Of Sorrow

Seen a sign on eve of sorrow
Pointing north to barren land
Resigned to face unknown tomorrows
I place my fate in holy hands
Pack a suitcase filled with memories
Tears flow freely from my eyes
Make the peace with all my enemies
Kiss my wife and kids goodbye
What lies ahead I dare not ponder
Must find the strength to forge ahead
At times I dream of going further
To contradict what man has said
Seen a sign I need to follow
Pointing straight to godly ways
Resign to face no more tomorrows
I give my life to you today
Pack my mind with loads of candy
Treats to choose from while I’m away
Looking forward to what will greet me
I reconcile to pass on written day
What lies ahead no man can ponder
With peace of mind I go my way
I leave a legacy of love and courage
And reap the glory sown yesterday
Seen my life flash right before me
I know that man was born to die
Resigned that I’ll be gone this evening
I kiss my wife and kids goodbye
