Evening star, evening star, to my roof this night.
Evening star, Evening star, why art thou so bright?
Some apart of steadfast stranger to a mark,
Roll their languid prophecy--an hour of dark;
For what shall I see the pretty-waning sky,
The moon, the seasons--betwixt, that kept a sigh--
Bearded in the thistle untouched and fair
Glowing to the season's gullible air:
But, O, revered to beauty walked so rare,
Tipping the melanch'ly that chains too dear!
Mckeily Quilang
