Every Day I Fight It Poem by Jef Smith

Every Day I Fight It

Rating: 4.5

Every day I fight it, being who I used to be.
Every day is a struggle, to not be me.
I want to be the man, you want and need.
I feel it is impossible, for me to succeed.

When I met you, I was ready to die.
You changed all that, but now who am I?
I am lost in your world, I don't fit in.
Just like before, it's happening again.

One day at a time, to avoid the disgrace.
I look at our son, and his beautiful face.
