Every Soul Does Matter Poem by Wayne Leon Learmond

Every Soul Does Matter

Every Soul
Does Matter
......................

In silent night
I sit and write
I type the words
in the dark - not light

For the
shadows stand
and watch over me

Place their hands
on my shoulders
in the silence
see?

Whispering words
of sweet regret
and time stands still
as I recollect

the past that haunts
my very soul
My mind is weary
and I feel very old

Whispering words
into my ear

'Put down put down
what you hear.'

Incessantly they
continue on
until my mind
is all but gone

Shadowy forms
either side of me
will never ever
set me free

For they
are the souls
of those
now passed

Reciting from
the Netherworld
that my work will last

Telling of a life
beyond the veil
of the grave

Whispering
words
to me

of the life
that they
once made

on earth

So we will
not forget

that every
soul does matter
whether living
or but dead.

Whether murderer
or victim
they whisper
within my head

that every soul
does matter
whether living
or but dead
