Everything Poem by Brianna Richard

Everything

You were sought out of boredom.
Though everything I was going through that night, I gave you my soul.
I opened up like the brilliant sun of a cool dawn and left you basking
In the hues of orange, red, and yellow that were my words.

I tore down every wall with the strength of a thousand men
And opened myself up ready, ready for the let down.
I found myself addicted to you, your words… they were
Like a drug.

I danced from day to day with the thought of what could be
Boring itself into my head and coming to surface
When I suddenly felt insecure about the relationship we built.

We were a brilliant comet in a dark, summer sky.
Our climax was a brilliant plethora of color
Yet we faded into the dark of eternity.
