Existentialism Abounds - Poem by Adriane Hunt

am I the dream
or the creator
i lay awake tonight
dreading sleep
another bout of
consciousness
screams and scratches
something else
something different
nothingness
is that the debate?
eyelids heavy
can’t hold on
writhe in terror
desiring to take flight
should I wake him
he’s shouting my name
is it the here and now
or am I completely insane
