Exoatmospheric Xenophobia Poem by Whitney Stevens

Exoatmospheric Xenophobia

I fear what lies beyond the shadows
Beyond the line Icarus passed
What lurks among the charcoal depths
Among the shining balls of gas
My mind tells me not to worry
But I must, for we don't know much
I also fear the consequences of such exploration
A problem Houston, a spatial error
I guess I fear the unknown
For we know so much yet no we don't
