Expecting Robin Poem by ERNEST CLARY

Expecting Robin

Rating: 4.8

I seen a robin in its nest
sitting on some eggs
they were under her breast
in between her legs

in her nest that she made
of grass and sticks
under a leaf for shade
with mud for mix
to hold every blade
like mortar on bricks

she was siting looking around
as if on guard
not making a sound
watching a cat in the yard

like a proud expecting mother she layed
on the eggs in her nest
while other birds played
and had a fest
