Explaining The Obvious - Poem by Arah Morrison

I’d like to set the record straight
on how love is supposed to be.
Giving everything you have to give
is the essential key.
Caring for another,
with no regard for yourself.
Being faithful only to them
Never straying to anyone else.
Love is a feeling
a look, a touch,
It’s in the way your heart beats
for the one you adore so much.
All other emotions,
They come and they go.
But when you feel love’s devotion
You’ll understand then
what I already know.
