EXPROPRIATION Poem by André Schmitz

EXPROPRIATION

They grab a gown in which there is
no longer anyone - because of expropriation!
And the woman has left as from a house
where she would have left everything: goods and chattels,
from where she would have withdrawn everything: dreams and souls.

(And the gown squeaks with bark in Autumn.)
