Extinguished Joy Poem by Katlego Rasegwete

Extinguished Joy

Just like a wall after been painted
Beauty is all that is possessed
Like our love when we met
Happiness was all that was possessed

People talked about us
People windowed shopped our love
But
With time lot ceased to happen
Color started to worn out from the wall
Just like our love corrodes slowly

Once was solid and beautiful
Once was embraced
Now melting and disgusting with its heartaches
Evaporated the beauty, extinguished joy
