Extremes Poem by Nina gáspari

Extremes

An empty room
Someone´s sitting at a dark corner
And so I´ve found you
You
You believed the sweet kisses,
The pretty words and the wide smile
And now you´re back to being you
By yourself again, after that long while
You
You were so devoted to the sweet songs,
The pretty faces and the wide lies
And now you´re back to being you
Yourself again, and the pain strikes back again
Looking at you from afar I can now see it clearly
The choices were made, and led your soul to
Oblivion, no chances of turning back the time
No more warm-hearted reasons to smile
They had you going hard, for an illusion
Something it wouldn´t last longer than a summer rain
Something it only lead you to confusion
And so they´ve gone
To higher heights, further places, concrete dreams
And so they´ve left you here
Just like I could have foreseen
To darker rooms, hopeful days, concrete extremes
I´m silently backing off now,
I´m not turning my back on you
Just leaving you alone with your pride and attitude
