millimeters to inches
and inches to space
and all of this measured
all of this concaves
in the universe of stars and dreams
and earths and meteors
and all between
of carbon's essential presence
and of gold's massive quantities
Eros, a meteor of the Gods
turns even the weakest space-cowboy's eyes
and he glances and sees the shimmering
of a thousand gold filled caves
and here beneath the shadows of this meteor that passes
here somewhat passively typing,
here is where we sit
comfortable away from this
while stars explode
and suns upset
while solar flares knock out power
while meteor's soar, and black holes collapse
and black matter remains untraceable
while space expands
our minds expand
our lives expended, for what?
the ant beneath our shoes will fade
and so will we,
immeasureable in space and time's eyes.
