Face Time Poem by Laurence Overmire

Face Time

I had to turn away from
Who I thought I was
Come face to face with

The real me

There in the mirror of myself
The one who knows the answers
The one who wouldn't let me

Cheat

The promise I'd been given
The one who smiled with a wicked
Gleam in the eye and

Seemed to understand
It was destined
All along.
