Faces Poem by Vickii Kline

Faces

Rating: 2.6

Her past had many faces,
Happy, Sad, Scared, and Alone.
All these feelings and what do they say to a
Empty minded soul? Nothing!
She feels so alone in this world, sometimes.
As she begins to cry she hears a voice,
A voice that deceived her once before,
But yet she could not place him.
Dead silence was all around her.
All she could hear was a whisper in her ear,
Saying Trust me….. Trust me once more!
I will help you! I will love you,
This time will be different I swear!
She thought to her self,
Could she, Should She trust him again?
Or should she walk away?
He promised her love!
Anything the only thing she ever wanted.
As she turned to give a response,
All she saw was the wind whistling by her,
But yet she could still hear his begging voice.
Over and over again!
Where does this voice come from?
Why do you not show your face?
Are you a coward?
There was still no answer.
She though he may have left her?
So she placed her head in her hands
To cry and began to weep.
Just the she heard a heavenly voice
That she had never heard before…
Saying “lift your head my child do not cry for you will always be loved by your father.
The young girl lifted her head as if confused
And saw a man who she only seen in books,
And heard stories of.
She said but my father he does not love me!
He does not know me!
The Holy man of grace gave a response,
My child I am your father,
I am everyone’s father!
You were always loved by your family on earth
And your family that lies within heaven.
She lifted her weary head,
Wiped the lonely tears that stream from her face,
And ran to him to thank him, and
For showing her the way of enlightment.
And never have to turn back to sin!
