Facing The Black Dog Poem by Frank Walters

Facing The Black Dog

It has been with me all year
But none believed me

They said it wasn't there
So I thought I was seeing things

But invisibly it has led me
Into misanthropy

A siberian self-centredness
It has gifted me

Despite all my fights and battles
To escape it

It has won

Time to call in the troops
