your smile was like the sun
warm, bright
it illuminated my entire life.

your laughter was pure music
wildly, indescribably, beautiful
my heart sang at its sound.

yet you plague me with endless misery
why do our memories haunt me?
warm, bright,
wildly, indescribably, beautiful
they mock me. and
i cannot help but find myself questioning
was our happiness purely
imaginary?

will you tell me?
help me understand
the pain that laid behind your mask.
explain it to me, please.
what happened that night
that drove you to leave?

but you will never.
you only do,
what you do best.

you dance and you dance and you dance.
you dance until you
fade away.

yet while i live,
you cannot die.
and i will
