Faith Poem by La Tonya Davis

I have my arms outstretched
to you Lord, asking what's about to happen next

The rent is late, the bills are due
and still little or no money is coming through

I know in my heart that this is ment to happen
right now during this point and time

A matter of you testing our strength, and faith really
I know we cannot live on love alone
and our future I see so clearly
if I could reach out to it I would
but can't right now
because our seeds have already been sewn.

So now we have to wait in the distance
simi-helpless and simi-distracted
not fully being able to understand
but being able to embrace the situation at hand.

'Walk by faith not by sight, 'right oh Lord?
if I haven't understood that then
I understand it all now
trust you and only you
for I know you will never let me down.
