Fake Poem by Rik Bertrand

Fake

Why is it that you’re not real?
What is it that I really feel?
You look at me and say you’re true,
But I know deep down I have been played a fool.

Why are there so many fakes and liars?
Why am I the one to always stamp out the fires?
You are a fake, thin skinned and basically a fraud,

And trust me my friend that is nothing to applaud.
Finding the one that steals your heart,

It can seem hopeless from the very start.
But we all have our lives, and we all have our story,
And when all is done we will have our glory.
The Fakes and the liars, they are nothing but fires,

To be stamped out and thrown out with our desires.
Their reason for being is not really clear,
But it is nothing that we need to really fear.
I am strong and my faith stays with me,

And I know that I still have my family.
Truth be known most my friends are true,
And when I get one that is not real, I know what to do.
