Fakir Sufis Poem by Sumita Jetley

Fakir Sufis

Two Sufis walked in the desert sand,
Ibrahim and Hasan, hand in hand.
Spoke little, ate less, slept the least,
Their hearts full of a divine feast.

Eyes would shine when they spoke of their Friend,
Kneeling down, their prayers would ascend.
Led by Nabi with a rosary so fine,
In their steps, magic cities would shine.

Ali, the first, with followers behind,
In zikr and dhikr, their hearts aligned.
Fields of wealth where they had prayed,
A legacy of devotion, beautifully displayed.

Their souls roamed free, in transit they stayed,
Poets and singers now praise their name,
In their memory, a bright, eternal flame.

They lived simple, pure, and true,
Untouched by deviation, hearts anew.
Happy in their humble space,
Richest in their spiritual grace.
