Fall Poem by Albert Giovino

Fall

The trees burst with color
One last hurrah before all white
The apples are in the Muller
The air has a distinct bite

Frost is on the ground
In the early morn
Steps are crunchy brown
Pumpkins and Indian corn

Thinking of their costumes
Overflowing with delight
The sweet and scary looms
On Octobers happy night

Jack o lanterns at each door
Wired witches on brooms
Ghosts the required decor
Lawns with Styrofoam tombs

Firewood is stacking
Storing for cold days
Axe is rhythmically hacking
Cords’ still waiting lays

Feast, family and close friends
Thankfulness for all
Pilgrims, Turkey odds and ends
That’s what I love of fall
