Fall Between Enemy Lines Poem by Katie Hayes

Fall Between Enemy Lines

You hear your pulse grow faster
There's nothing to stop it now
It's lurking in the shadows
And you keep asking how

I won't tell you what to say
Or what to do
It just goes to show
It hates you

You fall between our enemy lines
No side is chosen
Your bloods spills out hot
Yet your heart is frozen

How many times do I need to shoot
Bullet after bullet into your mind
Not once was I nice to you
Just as to me you weren't kind

You fall between enemy lines
Nothing now to do to you
I think I may have lost my mind
When you said to shoot

I'm whispering to myself
What I need to say
I can't think of an excuse
Of what happened that day

I couldn't care less
If you haunted me tonight
Let me say just one thing
Don't forget the lights

You fell between enemy lines
I didn't know what to do
I think I may have lost my mind
When I fell in love with you
