Fallen Angel Poem by Rashida Mack

Fallen Angel

Seven, young girl
I see you, smiling
on the front page,
malnourished,
shrunken dry.

You hoped for
help,
change,
mercy,
but no one came
sweet child
no one came.

You begged,
pleaded,
SCREAMED,
and cried
little girl
at the hands of those whom are to love and cherish,
ravaged by evil,
turned heads, closed eyes, covered ears
you cried
tears of doom,
from the wells of despair,
No one heard,
No one cared.

Heart heavy,
I weep and weep and weep
for you failed girl,
ravaged on earth.

Released,
your soul flies
flies,
soaring,
forever,
high.
