Falling Poem by Wounded Soul

Falling

Sweet smiles, glowing eyes,
That’s how I saw you before.
Faithful years to flowing tears,
Darkness took over light.

Soft kisses, warm embrace,
That’s what we had before.
Funny jokes to little fights,
Silence took over noise.

All that’s left is slumming of doors
And so much unanswered calls.
I thought you said we’re about to fly,
So why am I falling right now?

You’re not what you used to be.
I’m not that girl anymore.
Somehow, we changed slowly.
Now, present hid the past.

Once upon a time, happy endings,
That’s what I wanted before.
Awkward hello to tearful goodbye,
Strength taking over fear.
