Falling From Dreams Poem by João Nobre

Falling From Dreams

I wish that I went to sleep
fall in my dreams and never wake up

living through wonderful and magic scenes
discovering new things, I can't get enough

but I am tired of this life of mine
of all the lies that hold me in place
of all the distractions and misunderstandings
the dying of love, beauty and grace

and so my thoughts are stuck in a race
of whether it's worth it to stay or let go

because of this living
harsh, unforgiving
what plan is divine
I don't really know

I am stuck in the flow
dragged by current
can't stay afloat
trying to endure it

not willing to live
not wanting the pain of dying in vain
it won't let me go

there once was light, now there is none
