Falling Stars Poem by William McGehee

Falling Stars

The stars fell; I thought of you.
Blazing fire, for all the world to view,
Engulfed the sky in flashing crimson hew
To spark the heart of mankind as they flew.
This lasted but a moment, maybe two:
Extinguished now and never to renew
Unlike my love which ever burns for you.
