False Freedom Poem by Sefofane Shabalala

False Freedom

An illusion called freedom condemns our wellbeing,
hatred and rascism consumes our mindstate,
democracy which gave us rights is contradicting itself
we left confused between right and wrong,
our constitution is torn apart by greedy and
dysfunctional leaders we supposed to look upon.

Instead of living with peace and prosperity,
we living to survive and hope for the better tomorrow
though we were once promised a better future,
our problem we never evolve yet we revolve to those false
promises we were once promised by our so called political leaders.

We are all universal yet we tend to over populate our
interlect with conceptual thoughts that we ain't equally sane,
competition nor challenge are vivid that we fear, I mean once
one distinguishes his goals nor dreams we tend to extinguish
through jealousy and hatred simply because we don't want to evolve.

"We are living in a free world" so they say it's just a system that
lives us vulnerable and obscure to the ultimate reality that we yet
still dream of freedom, whats freedom if we still struggle to co-exist
with our distant relatives we came to call foreigners, lets break the
boundaries between our native lands and become one, Ubuntu...
