Perhaps you have some
Archaic wisdom
Passed down to you
From other fools

Who

Made up stories
That were writ in paper
And turned to stone
Over time

For me it’s easy to see
That those fools and teachings
Are just old beliefs
Engraved in stone

Fools
Carry the stone
Not knowing
That some time ago
It was only paper

And now
Fools live an ancient lie
That time will only strengthen

Blinded by their ignorance
Passing down the stone
To others

Unaware
That the stone will drag us all down

Unaware
Of their selfishness
Fools continue to pass the stone

Eventually
The weight
Will drag us all
Into a downward spiral
