Fame And Fortune Can Be Fleeting Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

Fame And Fortune Can Be Fleeting

Rating: 3.0

Any day you can be replaced
You're not as important as you think you are
Any day they be looking at a new face
Instead of you they will be giving them the cigar

You think your name is in the wood work
When suddenly a new hero arrives
Though you been faithful all these years
They say you no longer have the drive

Some friends are just fair weather
They may leave at the drop of the hat
As soon as they hear someone else is better
They leave you and that's that

Don't expect people to always love you
Don't be surprise if one the crowd turns away
Sure you're entertaining, it's true
But are you willing to compromise and be a sell out some day

I mean how desperate are you for fortune and fame?
Will you sell your best friends idea as yours
Are you willing to play along with the in crowd game?
Only to find out someone else came up with a better cure

In the end you have to live with yourself
Decisions you make may be one day a regret
So think twice before you compromise morels for wealth
For the bad seeds you plant will be the poison you get

If it's all just for fame
Don't be surprised if your fortress brakes down
Sure the masses proclaim your name
But next week you'll be the person they drown
