Familiar Faces Poem by Peggy Sfaelou

Familiar Faces

Familiar faces
and the memories they give
The smiles and the tears
and the life that we've lived.

We've all had our battles,
some lost and some won.
Some have torn us apart
and others have made us one.

The unhealed scar
The untouchable dream.
The heavy weight
We've had to upheave.

We converse and we laugh
and sometimes a tear.
As the words unfold,
music to our ears.

A bittersweet symphony
of hopes and of dreams.
We open the book of life
and outloud we read,

We are one
as our lives intertwine.
And the memories we share
will remain over time.
