Familiar Stranger Poem by JodiLynne Lee

Familiar Stranger

Sometimes in my dreams I see,
The darkest of my fears,
The deepest of my horrid thoughts,
Comes the scream that no one hears.

All the pain she feels inside,
The scars that no one sees,
The emptiness inside her heart,
The things that she believes.

Her feelings portrayed by her actions,
Her actions that no one understands.
Understanding she can't even do herself,
And turns away from the guiding hands.

Unknown is she to herself,
Her heart and soul, a stranger.
Something created from her past,
Drawing her closer to danger.
