Family Ghosts Poem by leticia s david

Family Ghosts

A chrysalis of ideas keeps floating around my head,

and holds my hand when I feel I cannot stand.

A word of advice fills my thoughts,

when all I want to do is dance.

I can feel your guide leading me through to a place where I know you are there.

Maman, oh maman, I know you are here.

If I could, I would stand tall, but I want you, maman to teach me to be strong,

Papa, you have held me all through those days so dark.

You have shown me my life, so murky.

But is there a reason to love?

Oh, when He is there, all things are possible and all reasons are doubtless.

Golden light melting to the ground,

unfold me.

Brother I know, stay with me.
