Family On The Road Poem by Dawn Keller

Family On The Road

A family lives on the road
Mom, dad and two kids
Life is rough couped up in the truck
Mom home schools both her kids

No time to play, no friends around
The highway can be a lonely place
Dad drive's daylight mama drive's night
Lights passing by like the moonlight

Busy day ahead rolling down the
Highway, short stops in between
Fueling every 500 miles and
Grabbing a quick bite to eat

Filler up, time to go
As day turns to night
It's swapping time
How kids adjust time will tell

Road life is not for everyone
Only the strong survive
Feeling worn down
Time to take a break
