Fanfarfe For The Common Nature Poem by Paul Larmour

Fanfarfe For The Common Nature

oh to walk the lane again
when the sun is in the sky again
with the lane lined left and right
of warmest scented yellow bright
budding hawthorns web the sky
yellow primroses widen their eye
the greenest grass dressed in dew
softens your tread and kisses your shoe
you feel like your feet have wings
like the grass is on tiny springs
the human race feels out of sight
as your feet take off in flight
walking along the straight and wind
a gaint step for mankind
feathery ferns unfurl here and there
trumpeting a common natures fanfare
the birds join in with a throaty whistle
in amongst the brair and thistle
busy insects hum in harmony
through the delicious dusky sweet pea
bees and flies drone in the flowers
leaves shake and rustle in the bowers
down where the woodbine climbs and bluebells chime
white waltzing butterflies sweep past in the time
armies of ants stamp the beat
with millions of tiny marching feet
the whole lane rings with a wondrous air
of the common natures fanfare
