Fantasy Falls Poem by Samantha McKinnon

Fantasy Falls

Atop crystal water falling with beauty,
Two people celebrate love and union.
Before I came they made it their duty
To show how two hearts in love should fit in.
Waterfalls fell for you and me
Only not from overlooked rocks and bright green grass.
It dropped from saddened eyes of the lonely.
On the dried peak my heart it shattered like glass.
I reached for the peak of fantasy falls,
Grasping at any last fragments of your love I once had.
But somehow, your heart had risen way above
The person you once considered the best,
No longer enough for your needs to rest.
