Boundaries Broken Poem by Samantha McKinnon

Boundaries Broken

This harmony comforts, those eyes remind.
No need to ask if you care for Me as
Our hearts intertwine with our words and minds.
We understand the scars that each one has.
Despite our greatest fear of exposure,
We still lay out our insecurities,
For we know this will somehow reassure:
This can't be one of life's impurities.
Here we are now, trying not to forget
The reality that quivers our lips:
That this is a gift that time must permit.
It's still within reach of our fingertips.
We think of beheld hurt that marked us flawed.
It's more than worth the boundaries we outlawed.
