i awoke today
with thoughts of her
last night
we met and talked
but not really
it was electronic
and she was
far too far away
but a second morning
came abruptly
my Cocker wanted out
he has His time-clock
in his brain
and there is no resisting
his insistence
but after all that
i lie there thinking
too much and too hard
today
