Farewell My Lover Poem by Tigana Chileshe

Farewell My Lover

When i lie down where shades of gentle trees once spirited nothing seems real except the hallow darkness of loneliness that assault my soul.
Memories perish of times spent together yet the most painful of it all is that you fade too like a distant figure vanishing on the horizon.
Return again, come back, my soul cries but all in vain for these are just lonely wishes of a lamenting heart.
I let no night pass without me looking at the gazzion stars and the moon for it is where we first made our vows as the rains spoke and the winds sighed yet our hearts were contempt for we had each other.
Now you are gone, forever never again wil i hold you or touch you except in my dreams the only place where you come alive.
Farewell my lover, goodbye my friend. What more can a tired heart say except that i wil meet you at the river soon.
