Farid Poem by Sumita Jetley

Farid

In hills where whispers wind and weave,
Baba Farid's chants conceive.
Names divine on lips do bloom,
In humble room, his sacred loom.

Sunrise kisses earth's embrace,
In meditation's tender grace.
'Ya Allah, ' sings the mystic's heart,
In every name, a sacred art.

Village stirs to Sufi's song,
Children gather, a curious throng.
In every leaf, bird, and eye,
He sees the Divine, soaring high.

Dusk descends, a painter's dream,
Farid's whispers now a silent stream.
'Shukran, ' he smiles, eyes like stars,
In gratitude, he breaks all bars.

Villagers feel, in heart's own dance,
Gratitude's true, profound expanse.
Not just in words, but being's core,
Love and thanks forevermore.
