Fatal Attractions Poem by Rob Jones

Fatal Attractions

Fatal attractions, begin with the eyes
But quickly to the heart they spread
And what we once thought we could control with the mind
Has now brought us to the brink of love's death

We've stumbled and fallen, and great was our fall
Our hearts have been tattered and sifted
Is it too late now upon you to call
Is it too late for this soul to be lifted

Great were our deeds, even greater our plans
For the betterment of you and I and all mankind
As we fought a good fight, side by side, hand in hand
And we stood in the gap for all time

Lift me up, take me higher, dry my tears with your smile
Forgive my many transgressions
Now broken, remake me and shape me a while
With your love forever embracing

The days last forever, the nights even longer
It seems as though I am only dreaming
Awake from this terror, arise and be stronger
The voices inside me are screaming
