Fate? Poem by Dale Totten

Fate?

When I entered this world,
was my life's script already written?
I think I might have got the wrong script,
because I sure didn't fit in.
Did all my bad experiences
come for some unknown reason?
The ridicule, the hurt, the pain,
who was it pleasing?
Did fate deal me cards
off the bottom of the deck?
At times I felt my life,
was a total train wreck.
Fate? Hate? Can you relate?
If everything in life is predestined,
what's the point?
Might as well kick back, get drunk,
and smoke a joint!
Ah, but circumstances finally brought
about a big change in me.
It was a long rough and bumpy road,
but worth every mile, you see,
Now my destiny is sealed
in the blood of Jesus Christ.
Eternal salvation is mine,
but at a very costly price.
He gave up his life for me,
now how can I ever complain?
No matter what fate may deal me,
my joy will always remain.
We are only here for a little while,
and then we're gone.
It's where we go from here that matters,
and we don't want to get that wrong.
Could it be fate
that you are reading this today?
So that you too will maybe
come to know The Way.
To know the joy of being saved,
for all eternity!
Accept him as you Lord and Savior,
and you too shall see,
That no matter what life may deal you,
nothing is too rough.
Because you have Jesus Christ,
and his grace is enough!
