Fathers Day Poem by Mike Berriman

Fathers Day

Thank you Dad for the gifts you gave
I lost a few but some I saved
I admired your composure when things went wrong
And laughed at your quips, when you burst into song

You made me stand when I had good cause
Speak clearly and slowly, use that pause
You were placid and patient and very caring
Almost a teatotaller, never heard swearing

You were a great Dad and a decent man
I'm half as good is the best that I can
I missed you yesterday, it was Fathers Day
Thank you Dad, what more can I say.
