Fear Poem by Jeryn Bean

Just that single emotion can cripple us,
it will drive the breath from our lungs,
and the strength from our limbs,

it will paralyze us,
as we stand and watch,
as our fear takes hold,
and begins to consume our life.

but we must overcome that fear,
fore it is only just an illusion.
but it is the strongest one we will ever face.
and because it is an illusion,

we fear, to fear.
it holds us in place,
keeping us from who we can truly be,
and never letting us move forward.

we must see fear for what it truly is,
we must see it as an illusion,
so that we may conquer it,
and leave IT staring at US!

only then will we move on.
only then will we be the best that we can be.
