Feasting Poem by Yasmin Bee

Feasting

I love eating figs
Not just the taste but the eating
Soft ripe squishy juicy on my tongue
As I lick the middle and feel the red filamentous flowers
My teeth breaking the skin
Feeling the fruit give way to honey sliding down my throat
I swallow fast and gorge on some more
