February Wish Poem by Pirate Thief

February Wish

I wish you were here
with the sunlight streaming in,
and jazz.... delicious jazz
thrumming through the overhead speakers.
You always understood
days like these.
You managed to capture them
in your unique economy of words.
And I would smile,
letting in all the wordsy air
that my heart could take.
Dear Friend
I so wish you were here
to watch the sun sparkle
across Febrruary's diamond snow.
What smiles we would share.
What words we might inhale.
But, alas
I must trust our Captain
that you saw this day, too.
And this brief moment,
though short and shuttered,
Will be a memory slowly devoured
One fine day
In Eternity
