(Equally Kipling-inspired and shroom-fuelled)
~Female~
When the conscious human mammal meets a predatory beast
He screams to scare the monster and to thwart the creature's feast
Yet the monster's mate and mother of its cubs will eat the man
The savage female beast is best avoided—if you can
The solitary leopard will retire to the trees
To thwart the pride of lions and devour prey in peace
Yet the leopardess with cubs will fight a desperate retreat
The female is a creature even lions loathe to meet
The mantis in its breeding will perpetuate the race
Its impregnated mistress eats her praying lover's face
And thus resigned to horror does the doomed male lover quail
The female is the bane and holy terror of the male
Insidious the words that shrewish vixens will outpour
Scientific vivisection of a nerve till it is raw
All husbands, sons and lovers will confirm this evil tale
The female is a creature far more fiendish than the male
In Dark Nights of the Soul the man despairs of what transpired
Of all the things he did and said when both their blood was fired
Yet woman thus affected broods in savagery and spite
No masculine equipment can deflect her callous might
And thus the cycle propagates; the female carries on
Perpetuates the species while unmoved by jest or song
The male appeals to abstract gods of truth with outstretched hands
Embattled in a conflict that no female understands
Emasculated mammals will regress from man to boy
Let her guide but never govern; let her nurture, not destroy
The tender, gentle instinct in the female must not fail
For when it does the lady is the terror of the male
