Feminine Verbs Poem by Nylynthial Greenland

Feminine Verbs

SLEEP, WAKE-UP, SHOWER, and SHAVE.
COMB my hair, PRAY my sins away.
COOK, CLEAN, CLEAR my mind, then LEAVE.
INHALE the day, EXHALE, THINK, then BREATHE.
TRANSPORT my body, SIT, and READ.
WRITE, TALK, LISTEN, THINK then BREATHE.
CALL next, LISTEN, WRITE, and REVIEW
TAKE notice then THINK IT through.
ASSURE the facts, SIGN IT then BREATHE.
BREAK, EAT, WANDER OFF, COME BACK, GO BACK, CLOCK IN…
Then…R E A L I Z E….

In the past 21 years…
I’ve GIVEN blood sweat and tears.
I don’t LIKE it or LOVE it…
I DEAL with it, RESPECT it
And keep MOVING.
Every once in a while I have to PROVE IT.
No GIVING up or TURNING back.
Just the endless paper stacks.
The customer’s SERVICE is essential
TENDING to theirs and FORGETTING my business EARNS credential.
LAPSED the time and yet to REDEFINE…

Myself as a woman in ACTION! ! !
