Field Trip Dad Poem by JOHNNY COBB

Field Trip Dad

The adults think I chaperone
but like the kids, I want to play.
Check the calendar carefully.
I'm off for field trip day!

My seven year old daughter
wants her field trip dad around.
We tour the Convention Center
and go see Bubbles the clown.

The Dauphin Island Sea Lab
or Gulf Coast Exploreum
park picnics, swings and slides
I enjoy being young.

Help the kids at the bowling alley.
See 'cute' animals at the pet store.
Watch them make doughnuts at Krispy Kreme
I want to go back for more.

I enjoy life's simple pleasures
Some of the best times that we've had.
'Swing me again, Mr. Johnny! '
Hey, I'm the field trip Dad!
